Yes, all booked days must be paid for. Child Care Subsidy will be paid for any absence from an approved childcare service your child attends for up to 42 days per child per financial year. Full fees are payable for absences after the initial 42 days. Additional absences beyond 42 days may be approved for specific reasons with supporting documentation.
Holidays - Learn Smart Early Learning Centre offers a 50% discount on gap fee. Families must provide two weeks’ written notice before taking holidays and this must be approved by the Service. A minimum of two consecutive booking days per week (based on the child’s permanent booking days) is required for the holiday rate/discount to be applied. No discount will be given for public holidays; however, if one or more days are taken alongside a public holiday, this will be accepted.” On the same note, on Fees page, currently it says that there is a holiday application form. Please note, the holiday form is not required, and only written notice is required from notice. Notice period is 2 weeks.
To ensure the health and wellbeing of all children and staff at the centre, children who are ill or suffering from an infectious disease must be isolated from other children and therefore excluded from Child Care for specific periods of time. If a staff member suspects a child is suffering from an infectious illness, one of the parents will be contacted and asked to collect the child. A clearance letter will be required from your medical practitioner to notify that the child is well enough to return to care.
We follow regular observation methods which are noted in observational sheets along with the formative assessment method that’s filed in through activities, worksheets and oral responses to the educator’s questions. We follow play-based curriculum teaching so our assessment methods are subtle without disturbing the children’s routine learning.
Parents can meet the educators during their working hours, however if they need to discuss their child’s development in detail, one on one meeting can be arranged during educator’s working hours
Excursions have been allocated separate fees and fees for community activities if needed are communicated by the centre to the families.
